Early Life
Serge Beynaud was born in Abidjan, Ivory Coast in 1979. He grew up listening to local music and was inspired by the likes of Alpha Blondy, Papa Wemba and Youssou N’Dour. He started playing guitar at the age of 12 and wrote his first song at 16. After completing his studies in 1999, he joined a local band as a guitarist and soon began producing music.
Career
In 2009, Serge Beynaud released his debut single “Okeninkpin” which topped charts all over Africa. He followed it up with another hit single “Dibi Dibi Rek” in 2010. His debut album “Sergeology” was released in 2011 to critical acclaim. He has since released several critically acclaimed albums including “Totofoloco” (2013), “Cabotine” (2015) and “Ame Caline” (2018).
