Biography

Six60 is a New Zealand band from Dunedin that has achieved phenomenal success both locally and internationally. The group consists of Ji Fraser (vocals/guitar), Matiu Walters (vocals/guitar), Marlon Gerbes (bass/vocals) and Chris Mac (drums). Six60 first gained recognition in 2011 with the release of their self-titled debut album. It was the fastest selling debut album in New Zealand history and spawned several hit singles, including “Don’t Forget Your Roots” and “Rise Up 2.0”.

The group’s second album Forever was released in 2014 and featured the hit single “Special”. It was certified gold in New Zealand and also spawned several other successful singles such as “White Lines” and “Vibes”. Six60 continued to achieve success with their third album, Six60 (3), which was released in 2016 and was certified double platinum in New Zealand.

The group has since released two more albums, Six60 (4) and Six60 (5). Both albums were hugely successful and spawned several hit singles such as “Please Don’t Go”, “Long Gone”, and “The Greatest”. The group has toured extensively throughout the world and performed at some of the biggest festivals including Splendour In The Grass and Reading & Leeds Festival.

Six60 have won numerous awards over the years including Best Group at the New Zealand Music Awards, Best Live Act at the Vodafone NZ Music Awards, and Best Rock Album at the 2018 APRA Silver Scroll Awards. They have also been nominated for several Grammy Awards.
