Who are Soegi Bornean?

Soegi Bornean is an up and coming Indonesian indie pop band from Semarang, Indonesia. The band was formed in April 2019, consisting of Fanny Soegiarto (vocals), Aditya Ilyas (guitar), and Bagas Prasetyo (guitar).

In just a brief period of time since joining the music industry in 2019, Soegi Bornean have gained almost 5 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and became a highly recognisable artist on the Indonesian music scene.

The name Soegi comes from the Japanese word “sugih”, which can be translated as “rich”. The second word in the name of the band, Bornean, refers to the island of Borneo in Indonesia, where the hometown of the main singer of the band, Fanny Soegiarto, is located.

Career

They have released a mini album (EP) titled “Atma” in 2020. One of their singles "Asmalibrasi" won second place on Spotify Weekly Top Songs Indonesia on October, 7 in 2022.
