Early Life & Career

Sofiane was born on June 21st 1991 in the 18th arrondissement of Paris. He is of Algerian descent. Growing up in a low-income neighborhood, Sofiane was exposed to rap music early on in his life. He was influenced by French icons like Booba and La Fouine, as well as American rappers such as 50 Cent and Eminem. At age 18 he began to pursue a career in rap music, releasing his first mixtape 'La Consécration' in 2012. The mixtape was met with critical acclaim and Sofiane began to gain recognition in France's hip hop scene.

Breakthrough & Success

In 2013 Sofiane released his debut studio album 'Je Suis Passé Chez So', which featured the hit singles 'Bandit Saleté' and 'Barcha Chouk'. The album was certified gold in France and helped propel Sofiane to new heights of success. He followed it up with the successful albums 'Comment c'est loin' (2015) and 'Mosaïque' (2017), both of which went platinum. Sofiane has also collaborated with several other French rappers including Booba, Maes and Ninho.

Personal Life

Sofiane is currently 29 years old and is married to his long-time girlfriend. He has two children from a previous relationship. He is a devout Muslim and often speaks out against racism and intolerance. In recent years he has become increasingly politically active, speaking out against racism and injustice during the Yellow Vest protests in France. He has also been vocal about issues affecting the Muslim community in France.
