Who is Surfaces?
Surfaces is an American indie pop duo from Houston, Texas, made up of Forrest Frank and Colin Padalecki. The duo first formed in 2017 and have since released four EPs and a full-length album. They are best known for their hit singles “Sunday Best” and “Heaven Falls”.
Early Life
Forrest Frank was born in Houston, Texas in 1998 and Colin Padalecki was born in 1999. Both grew up in Houston and started playing music together in high school. Forrest was inspired to make music after his father bought him a guitar when he was 9 years old, while Colin was inspired by his older brother who plays the drums.
Career
Surfaces first gained recognition with their debut single “Heaven Falls”, which was released in 2018. Later that year, they released their debut EP, Surf. They followed this up with their second EP, Where the Light Is, in 2019. In 2020, they released two more EPs, Horizons and Horizons II. Finally, they released their debut full-length album, Where the Light Is: The Album in 2021.

Surfaces have collaborated with several artists over the years. They have collaborated with Elton John on his 2020 single “Looking Up”, as well as with MAX on his song “Team” from his 2020 album Colour Vision.
