Who is TAEMIN (태민)?

TAEMIN (태민) is a South Korean singer, songwriter, actor and dancer. He debuted in 2008 as a member of the popular group SHINee and has since become one of the most successful solo artists in Korea. His music style is a unique blend of R&B, dance pop, electropop and others.

Early Life

Lee Tae-min was born on July 18th 1993 in Seoul, South Korea. He began dancing at the age of five, inspired by Michael Jackson. He trained hard in singing and dancing until he was scouted by SM Entertainment at the age of thirteen.

Career

In 2008, TAEMIN made his debut as a member of the popular boy band SHINee. The group became an instant hit and their first album sold over 100 000 copies in South Korea. In 2010, he released his first solo single 'Danger' which was an immediate success. Over the years, he has released several other successful albums such as 'Press It' (2016), 'Move' (2017) and 'Want' (2019). In 2017, he became the youngest artist to receive the ‘Mnet Asian Music Awards Artist of the Year’ award.

Personal Life

TAEMIN keeps his personal life away from the public spotlight. However, he is known to be close friends with many celebrities in the industry such as EXO's Baekhyun and NCT's Mark Lee. In 2020, he announced that he was in a relationship with actress Na Eun.
