Early Life and Career Beginnings
Uncle Kracker was born on June 6, 1974 in Mount Clemens, Michigan. Growing up in a small town, he spent most of his time listening to music. He went on to attend high school in Romeo, Michigan where he started DJing at parties with Kid Rock. After graduating in 1992, he joined Kid Rock's band Twisted Brown Trucker as his DJ and hype man.
Breakthrough Success
In 2000, Uncle Kracker released his debut album Double Wide. It peaked at number one on the US Billboard Heatseekers Chart and spawned several hit singles such as “Follow Me”, “In A Little While”, and “Drift Away”. The success of the album led to him being signed to Atlantic Records who released his second album No Stranger To Shame in 2002.
