The Ibadan malimbe is a rare species of bird that is endemic to Nigeria, where it is known only from the southwestern part of the country, including the city of Ibadan which it's named after. A striking red and black bird, it was first discovered in 1951 and is currently classified as 'Endangered'. Its greatest threat is loss of habitat due to forest clearing.
