Gianni Morandi is an Italian singer-songwriter, composer, and actor. Born in 1944 in Monghidoro, Bologna, he has been active in the Italian music industry since 1961. He has released more than 50 albums and has been awarded the highest music recognition in Italy, the Sanremo Music Festival Award, in 1971. He also acted in several films, including 'Fantozzi', 'The Secret of Santa Vittoria' and 'Fantozzi subisce ancora'.
Career
Morandi's first album, 'In ginocchio da te', was released in 1966 and was an immediate success. Many of his songs were played by both radio and TV stations, and he was invited to perform at the Sanremo Music Festival for the first time. In 1971 he won the first prize at Sanremo with 'Non son degno di te'. His success continued throughout the 70s and 80s, with hits like 'Scende la pioggia', 'Canzoni stonate', 'In amore' and 'C'era un ragazzo che come me amava i Beatles e i Rolling Stones'.
