Hatebreed was formed in 1994 by vocalist Jamey Jasta and guitarist Wayne Lozinak. The two had been friends since childhood and decided to form a hardcore punk band. Over the next few years they featured in local bands such as The Icemen and Neglect before forming Hatebreed in 1998. The band released their first album Satisfaction Is the Death of Desire in 1997 on Victory Records. This album was a critical success and is regarded as a classic in the genre.
