The Succes Story of JLS
The Rise of JLS
JLS was a British boyband that rose to fame in 2008. The band originally formed on the British talent show The X Factor, where they came in second place. The group's name stands for Jack the Lad Swing and consists of Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes, Jonathan 'JB' Gill, and Oritsé Williams.
JLS' Success
After competing on The X Factor, JLS released their self-titled debut album in 2009. This album was a huge success and went double platinum in the United Kingdom. It featured hit singles like Beat Again and Everybody in Love, both of which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. In 2010, the group released their second studio album, Outta This World. This album produced hits like She Makes Me Wanna and The Club Is Alive, which also reached number one on the UK singles chart.
Later Years
JLS released two more albums after Outta This World - Jukebox (2011) and Evolution (2012). These albums didn't produce as much success as their first two albums but still had some notable hits like Hottest Girl in the World and Billion Lights. In 2013, the band announced they would be splitting up. They performed a farewell tour later that year and officially disbanded in 2014.
Legacy
Despite their short career as a band, JLS made an impact on the pop music scene in the United Kingdom. They won numerous awards throughout their career, including five MOBO Awards and four Brit Awards nominations. They collaborated with many other artists such as Tinie Tempah, Dev, and Wretch 32. JLS is still remembered today for their classic hits and will continue to be an iconic boyband for years to come.
