Lajoie was accepted into McGill University at the age of 16 to study political science. After two years he decided to pursue comedy instead. From 2005 to 2014 he performed in comedy clubs across Canada with an emphasis on stand-up and sketch comedy.
Rise to Fame
Lajoie's rise to fame began when he released his first video “Everyday Normal Guy” in 2008. The song quickly became a hit and gained him millions of views on YouTube. During this time he also appeared in music videos with The Lonely Island and T-Pain. In 2009 he created his own YouTube channel and began releasing original comedy skits that were viewed by millions of people.

In 2009 Lajoie was cast in the show The League as Taco MacArthur. He was a main character for five seasons until the show ended in 2015.
