Hawthorne began singing at a young age and was heavily influenced by her church choir. She began her professional music career in 2015 when she auditioned for NBC’s The Voice. She made it all the way to the finale, where she placed second. After The Voice, Hawthorne signed with RCA Inspiration and released her debut single “Bright Fire” in 2016. The single was met with critical acclaim and peaked at number 6 on the US Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart. In 2018, she released her debut album Unstoppable which earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Gospel Album.
