Biography

Mahmut Orhan is a Turkish DJ, producer, and composer from Istanbul. He creates music that blends elements of electronic and ethnic music together, creating an original and unique sound. He made his debut in 2012 with the single “Deep Blue” and has since released numerous singles, EPs, and albums. His music has been streamed worldwide and he has performed at many festivals around the world.

Early Life

Mahmut Orhan was born in Istanbul in 1983. He grew up listening to a variety of music including traditional Turkish music, classic rock, jazz, and hip hop. At the age of 14 he began to teach himself how to play the piano. He also learned to play guitar, bass guitar, and drums.

Career

In 2012 Mahmut Orhan released his first single “Deep Blue” which quickly gained attention in the electronic music scene. In 2013 he released his debut EP “The Flow” which featured remixes from artists such as Colonel Bagshot and Sena Sener. That same year he collaborated with Boral Kibil on the single “Game of Thrones” which was a hit in Turkey. In 2014 he released his debut album “Rise” which featured collaborations with other Turkish producers and singers. Since then Mahmut Orhan has released numerous singles and EPs as well as several remixes of popular songs. He has also performed at festivals around the world including Ultra Music Festival in Miami and Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas.

Style & Influence

Mahmut Orhan’s music blends elements of electronic music with traditional Turkish sounds such as strings, percussion, and vocals. He often incorporates live instruments into his productions to give them a unique sound. His music has been influenced by artists such as Deadmau5, Daft Punk, and Armin Van Buuren. His style is often compared to that of producer Avicii due to their similarities in sound.
