Martin Solveig is a singer/songwriter & producer/DJ who has demonstrated his versatility with various music styles in house, disco, and electro/pop music styles. For over twenty years, the experimental artist has authentically grown his artistry and succeeded in accumulating a global fanbase. Early years Martin Solveig was born as Martin Laurent Picandet in Paris, France, and trained as a classical singer at the prestigious Paris Boys choir. Inspired by a range of genres, one of his biggest inspirations was the artist Prince. By the age of thirteen, Martin brought his first turntables and embarked on learning DJing. It didn’t take long. By the age of eighteen, he secured his first residency at the famous Le Palace and added music production to his development. Career At the start of his musical journey, one of the first tracks to gain popularity was the song “Heart of Africa” which gained the attention of producer Bob Sinclair, that then materialized into the DJ producing a track for Sinclair’s project “Africanism” in which he came up with the song “Edony” the song became Martin’s first chart-topping single. Following on from there, he built up collaborations with various artists. One such artist was Salif Keita, a Malian singer; their track “Madan” peaked at 37 on the French singles charts. Martin’s global success did not happen overnight but established itself over time. Gaining his success, he went on to work with huge artists such as David Guetta & Madonna, who he produced six tracks on her album MDNA. Festivals Martin has performed his set at some of the world’s largest festivals, including Tomorrowland, Electric Daisy Carnival, Creamfields, and Parookaville, to name a few.
