Early Life and Career Beginnings
As a child, Mulvey was musically inclined and began playing drums at the age of three. In 2001 he joined the jazz-funk band Gentlemen's Dub Club before leaving in 2004 to study at the Royal Academy of Music. He graduated in 2007 with a degree in composition and performance. After graduating, he joined the band Portico Quartet as their drummer, vocalist, and songwriter, with whom he recorded two albums before going solo in 2013.
Solo Career
Mulvey released his debut EP The Trellis in 2013. His single “Cucurucu” was featured on the soundtrack of the 2014 film Calvary. He released his full-length debut album First Mind in 2014 to critical acclaim. He followed this up with 2017's Wake Up Now and 2020's In The Anthropocene.
