Palito Ortega is an Argentine singer-songwriter and musician born on August 28th, 1943 in the city of Avellaneda. His real name is José María Ortega Cano. He gained fame in the 1960s in Argentina, Chile and other Latin American countries. His music style has been described as a mix of rock and roll, pop, bolero and tango.
He has recorded over 20 albums throughout his career, but his most famous songs include “La Felicidad”, “Un Beso y Una Flor”, “EL Viejo y el Mar” and “Como Le Hará”. In 1981 he represented Argentina at the OTI Festival with the song “Para Vivir”. He is also considered one of the pioneers of Spanish language rock in the country.
