Rory Graham, AKA Rag & Bone Man, is a Neo Blues Soul singer from South East England. His baritone voice is smooth, strong, and husky, while his lyrics give off a personal touch. Early Days, Raised in a musical household, his parents sang and played the guitar. Muddy Waters, Jodie Mitchell, and Bob Dylan were the sounds his parents listened to, and the sounds of authentic singers would fill the house. The music his parents listened to also became the sounds he loved. Rory’s style of music was metal, hip-hop & Jungle. He was inspired by artists like Skunk Anansie, Tool, and Roots Manuva. From writing rap lyrics at school, Rory moved on to open mic nights in Brighton and joined a group called “Rum Committee” he became the rapper. He loved singing but didn’t feel so confident. His dad believed in his voice and encouraged him to be assertive with singing. Together they attended open mic nights, and Rory came away feeling more poised. Career Between 2011 & 2013, Rag & bone man brought out two EPs, Dog & Bone, which was released through the label “High Focus, and his first 12 track EP titled Bluestown. From there, he began working with producer Mark Crew. The same year the infectious singer struck a deal with Warner Chappell. He later put out the music he had been creating with Mark Crew, an EP titled” Wolves,” and in 2016, he signed a publishing deal with Colombia records. His first hit song titled “Human” took the no:1 spot in five European countries, including the UK. Since then, the humble and charismatic singer has won numerous awards, such as the “British breakthrough act” in 2017 and the “NRJ music award” for the international breakthrough of the year. In 2018 he won a Brit award for best single of the year.
