Raja Kumari (real name Svetha Rao) was born in Claremont, California in the United States. Her parents were originally from Hyderabad in India and she grew up surrounded by the cultural heritage of both countries. When she was 16 years old she began to take her passion for music seriously and started writing her own songs.
