Biography
Rittz is an American hip hop artist from Atlanta, Georgia. He signed to Tech N9ne's label, Strange Music, in 2013, and released his debut album, Last Call, later that year. Since then, he has released three additional albums, including the critically acclaimed White Jesus: Revival in 2017.
Rittz has worked with many of the biggest names in rap music, including B.o.B., Big K.R.I.T., Yelawolf, and Chris Webby. His lyrical style has been compared to Eminem, and he has been praised for his technical delivery and intricate wordplay.
Born Jonathan McCollum in 1981 in Decatur, Georgia, Rittz was raised in the nearby town of Stone Mountain. He first began writing rhymes at age 12 but didn't begin his rap career until several years later. After graduating high school in 2000, he began performing locally and eventually caught the attention of rapper T.I., who invited him to appear on his album Urban Legend.
In 2010, Rittz released a mixtape titled White Jesus, which gained him local recognition and led to his signing with Strange Music in 2013. His debut album, Last Call, was released later that year and featured guest appearances by Tech N9ne, Krizz Kaliko, and others.
Since then, Rittz has released three additional albums—Next to Nothing (2014), Top of the Line (2016), and White Jesus: Revival (2017)—all of which were well-received by critics and fans alike. In addition to his solo work, Rittz has collaborated with Tech N9ne on several songs and appeared on numerous tracks by other artists.
