Who is Sarah Connor?

Sarah Connor is a German R&B singer-songwriter. She was born in Delmenhorst in Germany in 1980 under the name Sarah Terenzi. She rose to fame with her chart-topping hits like “From Sarah with Love” and “Just One Last Dance”. She has been nominated for several awards including the Echo Music Prize, the MTV Europe Music Award and the World Music Award.

Early Career

Connor's career began in 1999 when she released her debut album Green Eyed Soul. It was a success in Germany, reaching platinum status. Her follow-up album Unbelievable was released in 2001 and also achieved platinum status. She had several hit singles including the title track and “Just One Last Dance”.

Breakthrough

In 2002, Connor released the single “From Sarah with Love” which became a massive hit across Europe and Australia. It reached number one in several countries including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Italy and New Zealand. She released her third album Key to My Soul that same year. The album was another success for Connor as it sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide.

Later Albums

Connor released her fourth album Naughty but Nice in 2005 which saw her move away from the R&B sound of her earlier albums. The album was a commercial success and spawned several hit singles including “Living To Love You” and “Just One Last Dance”. In 2007, her fifth album Soulicious was released which was a collaboration with several other artists including Randy Crawford, Natural and Culcha Candela. The album was another success for Connor as it reached number one in Germany and Austria.

Recent Projects

In 2009, Connor released her sixth studio album Sexy as Hell which again saw her move away from R&B towards a more pop sound. The album was once again a success for Connor as it reached number one in Germany and Switzerland and spawned several hit singles including “Cold As Ice” and “Under My Skin”. She has since released two further albums Real Love (2012) and Muttersprache (2015). In 2019 she appeared as a judge on the German version of The X Factor.
