About Segundo Rosero
Segundo Rosero is an Ecuadorian singer-songwriter whose unmistakable voice has earned him the title of one of the most important figures of contemporary Latin American music. Born in Quito, Ecuador, on December 25, 1973, he is the son of Domingo Rosero and Maria Salazar. He is best known for his solo albums and collaborations with other major Latin American artists.
Rosero began his musical career in 1998 as part of the band Alma de la Calle. In 2000, he decided to form his own group, Segundo Rosero y Los Tres Amigos. The band was composed of three guitarist-singers and a percussionist, with Rosero as lead singer. This project gave him the opportunity to show his talent as a composer and interpreter of romantic Latin American music.
In 2002, he released his first solo album titled Todo Empieza de Nuevo (Everything Begins Again). This record was well received by the public and critics alike and was followed by other successful albums such as El Cuarto de los Milagros (The Room of Miracles) in 2003, Despierta (Wake Up) in 2008, and Puntos Cardinales (Cardinal Points) in 2013.
Over the years, Segundo Rosero has had the opportunity to collaborate with many renowned artists from Latin America. He has worked with Ecuadorian singer-songwriter Alex Almeida on a few tracks from Almeida's album Llega el Amanecer (Dawn Comes). In addition, he has also collaborated with Mexican rock band Jaguares on their song Uno Mismo (One Self).
In recent years, Segundo Rosero has become a mentor to many aspiring musicians in Latin America. He has taught master classes on songwriting and production in countries such as Colombia and Chile. He is currently working on a new album that is set to be released in 2021.
