Who is SHAED?

SHAED is an American pop trio consisting of Chelsea Lee and twin brothers Max and Spencer Ernst. Together, their sound blends elements of electro-pop and indie rock. SHAED has released two EPs, Just Wanna See (2018) and Melt (2019), with the former reaching #1 on the Billboard Emerging Artists Chart. Their single “Trampoline” was certified triple platinum in the US and double platinum in Canada.

Early Life

The members of SHAED all grew up in Washington DC and first met in college at American University. In 2016, they formed the band after discovering they had a lot in common musically.

Career Beginnings

SHAED began their career releasing singles online. They quickly gained attention for their unique sound and began to tour with various acts such as Louis The Child, Marian Hill, and St. Lucia. In 2018, they released their debut EP Just Wanna See. The EP peaked at number one on the Billboard Emerging Artists Chart.

Breakthrough Success

In 2019, SHAED released their second EP Melt which featured the breakout single “Trampoline”. The single was certified triple platinum in the US and double platinum in Canada. In 2020, SHAED collaborated with Zayn Malik on the single “No Brainer” which was nominated for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance at the 2021 Grammy Awards.

Personal Life

The members of SHAED have remained tight-lipped about their personal lives but have expressed their shared love for classic rock music such as Queen and Led Zeppelin.
