Shelow Shaq (real name José David Lora Montero) is a 38-year-old Dominican urban music artist who has established himself as one of the main players in the Latin music industry. His career began in 2007 with his first album “La Plaga”, quickly establishing him as an important figure in the Latin rap scene.

Career Beginnings

Shelow Shaq began his career in 2005 as part of the group “Amaru”, alongside rapper Quilate. In 2007 he released his first solo album “La Plaga” which was a major success, quickly becoming one of the most popular rap albums in the Dominican Republic.

In 2012 Shelow Shaq released his second studio album “La Pulsión” which featured collaborations with various other Latin trap artists such as Arcangel, Ñengo Flow, Ozuna and Nicky Jam. This album propelled him to international stardom and he has since worked with many of the world’s biggest urban artists.
