Siakol is a Filipino pop punk band from Manila, Philippines. It was formed by Jek Bautista, Tuts Calinawan, Kuh Ledesma and Kelvin Uy in 1997. The band is known for their unique style of combining Filipino folk elements with pop punk. Their music has earned them numerous awards and recognition in the Philippines and beyond.
Career
Siakol released their self-titled debut album in 2000 which featured the hit single “Lakas Tama” which topped the Billboard Philippine Airplay Chart for several weeks. Since then, the band has gone on to release 7 albums: “Siakol” (2000), “Bakit Ba Ganyan” (2002), “Nasaan Ka Man” (2004), “Galit” (2005), “Tuloy Ang Byahe” (2007), “Asa Lang” (2009) and “Gabi Ng Lagim” (2012). Their songs have been used in various films and television series, including “Gimik: The Reunion”, “Alyas Pogi: Ang Pagbabalik” and “Bagets”. In 2014, they released a compilation album titled “The Best of Siakol” which included some of their most popular songs.

Siakol has been honored with numerous awards throughout their career. In 2003, they were awarded the Awit Award for Best Performance by a Group for their song “Bakit Ba Ganyan”. They were also nominated for the same award in 2004 for “Nasaan Ka Man”. In 2009, they were awarded the Awit Award for Best Rock/Alternative Recording for their album “Asa Lang”. They have also been nominated for several other awards throughout their career.
