Supercombo is a Brazilian rock band, formed in 2006 in Rio de Janeiro. The band is composed of Rafael Ramos (vocals and acoustic guitar), Larissa Conforto (bass guitar) and Ricardo Dias Gomes (keyboard). Their main influences are MPB, samba and funk, and they have released five studio albums to date.
Early Days
In 2006, the band got together for the first time in Rio de Janeiro. They began playing gigs at small clubs and bars around the city to gather a fan base. It wasn't long before their popularity started to spread, and soon they were playing shows all over Brazil and even abroad in countries such as France and Portugal.
Breakthrough Album
In 2010, the band released their breakthrough album, “Nosso”. The album was an instant hit with critics and fans alike, with its mix of Brazilian rhythms and rock music proving to be a winning formula. Since then, the band has continued to tour around Brazil and abroad, playing at festivals and venues of all sizes.
Influences
The band draws influences from a variety of genres including funk, samba, MPB and rock. Each member also has their own individual influences that they bring to the table when writing songs. For example, Larissa has cited classic soul singers such as Aretha Franklin as an inspiration for her bass playing.
