Early Life
Quatro was born Susan Kay Quatro in Detroit, Michigan on June 3, 1950. Her father Art was an engineer at Ford Motor Company and her mother, Nancy, was a homemaker. She was raised in Grosse Pointe Woods with her three siblings. She attended Grosse Pointe North High School where she graduated in 1968.
Career
Quatro's career began when she joined her first band, The Pleasure Seekers, in 1964. The band released two singles before disbanding in 1969. After the band split up, Quatro moved to London to pursue a solo career. In 1973, she released her debut single ""Rolling Stone"", which charted in the UK Top 10. She then released her debut album Suzi Quatro the same year. The album featured her hit single ""Can the Can"" which became her first Top 10 hit.
Success
Quatro's second album Quatro was released in 1974 and featured her hit single ""48 Crash"". The single charted in the Top 10 in both the US and UK. She then released her third album Your Mama Won't Like Me in 1975 and it reached No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart. The album spawned her biggest hit single ""Devil Gate Drive"", which peaked at No. 1 on the UK Singles Chart.
Later Career
In 1977, Quatro released her fourth album If You Knew Suzi... It featured two Top 10 singles ""Stumblin' In"" (with Chris Norman) and ""She's In Love With You"". She continued to release albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s but they failed to achieve much commercial success. In 2002 she released her last studio album Back To The Drive which featured re-recordings of some of her past hits.

Quatro has been married twice; firstly to Len Tuckey from 1976-1991 and then to Rainer Haas from 1996-2009. She has four children from her marriages – Richard (born 1978), Laura (born 1982), Lisa (born 1984), and Nancy (born 1989). She currently resides in England.
