About Taking Back Sunday
Taking Back Sunday is an American rock band from Long Island, New York. Formed in 1999, the group consists of lead vocalist Adam Lazzara, guitarist/vocalist John Nolan, bassist Shaun Cooper, and drummer Mark O'Connell. The band rose to fame with their 2003 album Tell All Your Friends. Their following studio albums Where You Want To Be (2004), Louder Now (2006), and New Again (2009) all debuted in the top 15 on the Billboard 200 chart. The band's fifth studio album Taking Back Sunday released in 2011, and their sixth Happiness Is was released in 2014.
History
The band was formed by guitarist Eddie Reyes in 1999. After recruiting Adam Lazzara as vocalist, the trio recorded a demo album which led to a deal with Victory Records. The band released their debut album Tell All Your Friends on March 26, 2002. The album peaked at number two on Billboard's Heatseekers chart and sold over 50,000 copies. In 2004, they released Where You Want To Be, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 chart and was certified Gold by the RIAA. Louder Now was released in 2006 and achieved commercial success, debuting at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and being certified Platinum by the RIAA.

Taking Back Sunday has been nominated for two Grammy Awards. They have also won numerous awards including Kerrang! Award for Best International Live Act (2010) and mtvU Woodie Award for Best Live Performance (2007). They have also been featured on Rolling Stone's Best Albums of the Decade list for their album Tell All Your Friends. Taking Back Sunday has headlined numerous tours throughout their career including Warped Tour and Taste of Chaos Tour.
