Tamino was born in Antwerp, Belgium, in 1997. Growing up, he played both the guitar and the piano and was heavily influenced by the music of Bob Dylan, Leonard Cohen, and Elvis Presley. At the age of 15 he started writing his own songs and at 17 he signed with his first record label.
Breakthrough
In 2017 Tamino released Habibi, which would become his breakthrough EP. In 2018 he released his debut album Amir and in 2019 he followed it up with Tohamy. Both albums were met with critical acclaim and earned him a spot among some of the most promising young singer-songwriters in Europe.
