Dayne has sold over 75 million records worldwide and has earned numerous awards, including two Grammy nominations and two American Music Awards. She has starred in multiple Broadway shows and was featured on the soundtrack of cult classic Clueless.

Dayne was born Leslie Wunderman in Baldwin, New York on March 7, 1962. She was raised in Long Island where she studied classical music at the age of 12 and sang in local theater productions as a teenager.

Dayne made her recording debut in 1987 with the single “Tell It To My Heart” which topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for two weeks in 1988 and was a major hit worldwide. Her debut album Tell It To My Heart was certified Platinum, selling over 5 million copies throughout the world.
