The Fratellis are a Scottish rock band from Glasgow, formed in 2005. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Jon Fratelli (born John Lawler), bass guitarist Barry Fratelli (born Barry Wallace), and drummer and backing vocalist Mince Fratelli (born Gordon McRory). The band rose to prominence in 2006 when their debut single “Chelsea Dagger” became a UK Top 10 hit as well as achieving global success.
Career
The Fratellis released their debut album Costello Music in 2006. It went straight to #2 on the UK Albums Chart and achieved gold status within the first month of its release. Their follow-up album Here We Stand was released in 2008. It charted at #5 on the UK Albums Chart, but was less successful than its predecessor. In 2010 they released their third album, entitled We Need Medicine; it charted at #14 on the UK Albums Chart. After taking a break for several years, the band returned in 2016 with their fourth album Eyes Wide, Tongue Tied. This album charted at #11 on the UK Albums Chart. The band have also collaborated with other artists, most notably with American indie rock band The Gossip on the song “I Don’t Wanna Dance” in 2013.
