The Itchyworms is a Filipino alternative rock band that has been active since 2005. The group consists of vocalist and rhythm guitarist Jugs Jugueta, bassist Chino Singson, lead guitarist Jazz Nicolas and drummer Kelvin Uy. They are best known for their hit singles “Akin Ka Na Lang”, “Antipara” and “Beer”.
The Group's Formation
The Itchyworms began in late 2004 when Jugs Jugueta decided to form a band after leaving his former group, the band Sandwich. He recruited Chino Singson of the band Razorback, Jazz Nicolas of the band The Dawn and Kelvin Uy of the band Paramita.
Debut Album
In 2006, The Itchyworms released their self-titled debut album under Sony BMG Music Entertainment. The album had singles such as “Akin Ka Na Lang”, “Antipara” and “Beer” which became hits in the local music scene. After their first success, the group followed up with their second album in 2008 titled “Noontime Show”.
Recent Works
In 2010, The Itchyworms released their third album titled “Itchyworms Live: Ang Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa” which was recorded during their live concert at Eastwood City Open Park in 2009. In 2012, they released their fourth studio album titled “After All This Time” which featured collaborations with artists such as Loonie, Gloc-9, Yeng Constantino and Ebe Dancel. In 2013, they released their fifth studio album titled “Kapit lang sa Aking Tabi (Hold On To Me)” which was certified Platinum by PARI.
