Who Is The Magician?

The Magician is the alias of Belgian producer and DJ Stephen Fasano. He has been crafting melodic house music since 2010, when he first released his remix of Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers”. It became an international hit, reaching #1 on the French Singles Chart and #2 on the U.K. Singles Chart. Since then he has kept up a steady stream of singles and remixes.

Early Life & Career Beginnings

Fasano was born in Ghent, Belgium in 1982. He began producing music at the age of 15 with a computer and some basic music editing software. His first taste of success came when he won a remix contest for Lykke Li’s “I Follow Rivers” in 2010. This propelled him into the spotlight and opened many doors for him in the music industry.

Rise to Fame

The Magician soon gained recognition for his remixes of popular songs such as Disclosure’s “Latch” and Lana Del Rey’s “Summertime Sadness”. In 2014 he released his debut album “Sunlight”, which featured collaborations with artists such as Years & Years, Clean Bandit, Julian Perretta and Coldplay. The album achieved commercial success, reaching #3 on the U.K. Albums Chart and #7 on the U.S. Dance/Electronic Albums chart.

Recent Work & Tours

In 2018 The Magician released his second album “Dreams” which featured tracks such as “Tied Up” and “Las Vegas”. He has since gone on to tour all over Europe, the U.S., Asia and Australia, performing at festivals such as Lollapalooza and Coachella alongside other top EDM acts. He has also continued to release remixes of popular songs by artists such as Little Mix and Major Lazer.
