Early Life
Toby Love was born in New York City on April 16th, 1984. His parents were both originally from the Dominican Republic but had immigrated to the United States. As a child, he was exposed to a variety of genres including merengue, salsa, hip-hop, and R&B. Growing up in the Bronx, he was surrounded by many talented musicians and singers which inspired him to pursue a career in music.
Career
In 2006, Toby Love started recording his debut album “Amor Total” with producer Sergio George. It was released in 2008 and featured hits like “Tengo Un Amor” and “Lloraras” which helped him gain recognition in the Latin music scene. In 2010, he released his second studio album titled “Salsa Soul” which was a mix of salsa and R&B songs. His third album “Amor Prohibido” was released in 2011 and featured collaborations with artists like Victor Manuelle and Nina Sky. Toby Love has also collaborated with other artists on their projects including Marc Anthony’s song “Tu Vida en la Mía” and Romeo Santos’ “Eres Mia”.
