Nicholas Williams, better known by his stage name Trinidad James, is an American rapper from Atlanta, Georgia. He was born on September 23, 1987 in Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago. His parents moved to the United States when he was 4 years old, and he grew up in Brooklyn, New York. James attended Florida A&M University but dropped out during his freshman year to pursue his music career full time.
Career
James started his career in 2011 with the release of his debut mixtape, Don't Be S.A.F.E., which included the single ""All Gold Everything"". The success of this single led to him signing a recording contract with Def Jam Recordings in 2012. His debut album, Father FiFi Presents: Ladies & Gentlemen...Trinidad James, was released in 2013 and featured guest appearances from T.I., 2 Chainz and Mystikal. He has since released several more mixtapes including The Wake Up (2014), The Wake Up 2 (2015) and No One Is Safe (2016).
Awards
In 2012, Trinidad James received three BET Hip Hop Award nominations for Rookie of the Year, Made You Look Award (best hip hop style) and People's Champ Award (best hip hop video). He has also been nominated for several other awards including the ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards and the MTV Video Music Awards.
