Who is Vilma Palma e Vampiros?
Vilma Palma e Vampiros is an Argentinian rock band from the city of Rosario, Santa Fe. Formed in 1988 by Miguel Angel 'Tete' Novarro (vocals), Santiago 'Santi' Pertusi (guitar), Gustavo 'Gusi' Sala (keyboard), Juan Carlos 'Juanchi' Bartolomé (bass) and Diego Arnedo (drums) they quickly became a popular success in Latin America. They have released seven studio albums with hits such as La Pachanga, El Auto Rojo, Autopista and La Muralla.
Career and Discography
Their first album, Vilma Palma e Vampiros, was released in 1989 and featured La Pachanga, which soon became a major hit. Their second album was released in 1991 and was titled La Guerra de los Sonidos. That same year they had a successful tour in Chile. Their third album was called El Paso Gigante and launched hits such as Autopista and El Auto Rojo. In 1995 they released their fourth record, Máximo Nivel, which included La Muralla. In 1998 the band released the album Al Muchacho Con Alegría which brought them further success and new hits like Muchacha Bonita. After a five-year break, Vilma Palma e Vampiros returned in 2004 with their sixth record, El Reencuentro. And in 2006 their seventh album was released: Baila Conmigo.
Collaborations
Vilma Palma e Vampiros have collaborated with several artists throughout their career including Lali Espósito and Fito Páez. They have also been part of soundtracks for films such as Hermano Sol y Hermana Luna (1993) and Los Excluidos (1996). The band continues to perform live concerts throughout Argentina to this day.
