A Mercury Prize winner with a career as a successful recording artist and record producer that spans over 3 decades, and also owner of legendary record label Shaboom Records since 1996. Sometimes called "your favorite DJs favorite record producer", Blakkat can cite Andrew Weatherall, DJ Harvey, Ricardo Villalobos and Dixon amongst his biggest fans! As a remixer he's flipped tracks for Lizzo, A Tribe Called Quest, New Order, Ladytron, Jamiroqui and Soul Clap. As a vocalist he's collaborated with David Morales, King Britt and DJ Yousef, and as a producer he's worked with Chaka Khan, DJ Sneak and Doc Martin to name but a few. His productions have appeared on labels such as: Crosstown Rebels, Defected, Hot Creations, Circus Recordings, Ellum Audio, Freerange, Dessus, Desolat and K7. Currently working on studio projects with DJ Sasha, David Morales, Doc Martin, BabyGirl, Sacha Robotti and Brazilian artists Lucas Frota and Xama.
