Biography
My name is Brian Ledwidge Flynn (MA Mus.), an Irish born composer, multi-instrumentalist, producer and music tutor living in Dortmund, Germany. My music is largely concerned with finding hidden beauty in the unfamiliar by combining traditional methods of composition and arranging with electronic, magnetic and digital methodologies. My music has been performed internationally, from the Art Cafés of Berlin to the concert halls of Taipei. I began composing music (on paper at least) during my Music Degree at the opening of the 21st Century and over time my process developed into preparing notated music which is then performed and recorded, after which is it often subjected to additional tape manipulation and then mastered digitally. I also write, arrange, produce and perform in many bands and small ensembles. These works are largely released on my label MAGNETIC STATE as a digital product as well as a limited edition cassette release. I have a passion for composing and producing for media and often collaborate with artists from the area of the visual arts. I am an experienced tutor for composition and all things music related.
