Biography

Bunnies and Rats is the musical project of Patrick Roche, based in Olympia, Washington, and conceived in the summer of 2021. After taking an artistic break to refresh his relationship with the muse, Patrick needed a new outlet. Bunnies and Rats was born as a way to create on his own terms by taking control of every aspect of the creative process from conception to release. Exposed to music at a young age, Patrick began his musical journey early. His parents fed him a heavy dose of sixties and seventies era rock cementing his love for loud drums, distorted guitars, and three part harmonies. After moving from Chicago to Seattle in 2001, Patrick began to connect with the Seattle music scene. By playing in the bands Blowdog & Sneezy, Chuck Yeager, and The Hopscotch Boys he began fulfilling some of his lifelong dreams. He played regularly at the Pacific Northwest's most popular clubs and recorded a number of albums along the way. Around 2016 Patrick stepped back from the music scene. He moved to Bellingham, Washington and began the quiet life of a fish farmer. Leaving the city and getting back to nature got him well rested and prepared for the journey he is now on. Re-energized after moving to Olympia. Patrick now lives in his humble little studio in the woods writing and recording with new found purpose.
