Edouard Bierry
Edouard Bierry photographs like he breathes. Everywhere, all the time. Day and night. Seemingly without thinking, like a reflex, instinctively perceiving what benefit he can draw from an unusual place, a particular situation, a privileged moment. Call it a sixth sense. So, casually, he doesn't simply take "some" photos, but "the" photo that captures the essence of the moment.

Edouard Bierry photographs like he breathes. Everywhere, all the time. Day and night. Seemingly without thinking, like a reflex, instinctively perceiving what benefit he can derive from an unusual place, a particular situation, a privileged moment. Call it a sixth sense. So, casually, he doesn't just take "photos," but "the" photo that captures the essence of the moment. His previous exhibitions revealed his ability to express himself in multiple domains through black and white images that speak of nature, architecture, design, shadows, light, and many other things. Years ago, in the days of film photography, a well-known film brand boasted about the quality of its products by referring to them as "color thieves." Edouard Bierry doesn't steal colors; he borrows them and immediately returns them, just long enough to immortalize their most beautiful expression. But most often, in his work, it's mostly about black and white, which, according to him, allows more room for imagination. While he has the talent to sublimate a face, a silhouette, he is also an expert in the art of placing an object, such as a watch (he is also passionate about horology), in an unusual environment to create a surprising, captivating, and evident photo.
