Biography

Emilio Rojas is a first generation Latin American hiphop artist hailing from New York. His music is a visceral amalgamation of personal storytelling and sharp lifestyle lyricism, combined with unique social and cultural observations. Throughout his career, Rojas has continually showcased his ability to be a voice for a massive and otherwise unrepresented group. Emilio and his sisters were raised by their mother in a single parent household in Rochester, New York. His father, an immigrant from Caracas, Venezuela, was generally absent for most of their childhood. Emilio later moved on his own to Washington Heights, NYC where he spent the majority of his early career. The constant obstacles in Rojas' life have made his artistry both immersive and extremely relatable. You don’t just hear Emilio's music - you live through it with him. Every trauma, every triumph, every moment of self-doubt, and every instance of unwavering conviction make the listener feel as if they're experiencing it all in real time. First emerging on the hiphop scene with mixtapes from fellow legendary Rochester native, DJ Greenlantern, Emilio began building momentum and hitting the radar of some of the industry's hottest hitmakers. These projects, presented by Pharell's Billionaire Boys Club and Travis Barker's Famous Stars and Straps, solidified Emilio as a force to be reckoned with for both the casual listener and hiphop enthusiast alike. Emilio's work even caught the eye of Rick Ross - who in an interview with Sway on MTV praised Emilio saying that “He is a dope Emcee” and acknowledging “I am a fan”. All of this lead Emilio into a partnership with Chris Lighty and Violator Entertainment until Chris untimely and tragic passing. Shortly after, Emilio signed a worldwide recording contract with EMPIRE. While working with EMPIRE, Emilio consistently delivered quality releases and collaborations with artists like Wale, Macklemore, B.O.B, Styles P, Yelawolf, Dizzy Wright, Joe Budden, and Joell Ortiz among others. With 4 world tours and more than 50 million streams under his belt, Emilio announced in November of 2020 the formation of his new label, Breaking Point Music Group a joint partnership with ONErpm. BPMG plans to release four new songs a month as part of the “Fourpack Friday” series starting in June 2021 and featuring the standout tracks What You Expect and Apologize. Emilio will then close out the year with Breaking Point II, the sequel to his critically acclaimed mixtape Breaking Point. Emilio is authentic, unapologetic, and very necessary. Simply put, Emilio Rojas IS hiphop
