Isla Escarlata is a Cuban musical duo founded on November 29, 2020. His music is based on rap but experiments with many more musical genres focused mainly on the Latin American cultural tradition and treated from a current sound perspective. It is composed of Samuel Delgado (composer and performer) and Javier Sampedro (music producer), both university students. On January 31, 2021 they released their first phonographic material under the title “Cerrar los ojos", contained in a five-song EP. As a result of this release, they were awarded the popularity prize of the First Base contest sponsored by the Havana World Music festival.
