Behind the stage name “Karlk” hides Charles Perrono. Born in Lorient in the West of France, he capitalizes several million streams with musical hits like “What I Want”, composed with the DJ duo Ofenbach, or “Daydreamer” massively broadcast in Asia. A self-taught composer and producer, Karlk was introduced to music at the age of seven. Turning his back on “too academic” music theory lessons, he taught himself to play several instruments, including guitar, drums and piano. Multi-instrumentalist, he began to compose on Ableton Live, pieces mixing world and electronic music, from Chill to Electro Pop, via Deep House. He enjoyed dazzling success on the web and reached millions streams, which made it possible to collaborate with artists such as Ofenbach or Napkey, to sign on labels such as Universal Music, PIAS or Times Records. He performs in important festivals in Europe such as Lakedance or Transmusicales. In December 2015, Google contacted him to use his track "What I Want" on advertising campaign "La Nuit vous Appartient". The song was then a worldwide success. Fun Fact, it is even playlisted in the International Space Station by the famous French astronaut Thomas Pesquet! In May 2017, he released his first album “Crossroads”. Two hits, “Daydreamer” and “Jeff”, quickly becoming global hits. In 2020, he began to compose for cinema, TV and video games. His activities make him more discreet on social networks. Today, he’s back with his next album “Karlk Beats” which will be released at the end of 2023.
