It's a bit like "Dr Jeckyll & Mr Hyde"!!! "Mateo Relief" is the mental, joyful & rhythmic side. On the other hand, "MISTER X5" is rather the darker, obscure & melancholic side. Fallen into music at a very young age, Mateo listens to: Jean Michel Jarre, Pink Floyd, ELP, Kitaro, Kraftwerk, Tangerine Dream, Deep Forest, Brian Eno, Klaus Schulze & so many others thanks to a music-loving dad. It was in 1989 that he discovered the world of synthesis thanks to Korg & MAO synthesisers in self-taught. He falls in love with it. It was in 2003 that he created the character of MISTER X5, in the style of "Dark Ambient Experimental". He released under this name, several EPs including one with cyberpunk artist Kenji Siratori on a German label. Also influenced by Detroit Techno, the Deep Minimale Techno Berliner & the WARP label, he began to compose slightly more nervous & rhythmic tracks under the name of "Mateo Relief". He enjoys producing this style & releases several EPs with the label "Yuko Records"
