Niki Moss is the alter-ego of Miguel Vilhena, multi-instrumentalist musician, founder of record label pontiaq, vocalist of the band Savanna and producer of numerous Portuguese bands. As of now, Niki Moss can also be considered an artist in his own right having struck out on his own with the release of his debut album ‘Gooey’ in 2019, re-introducing himself to his loyal following whilst garnering the attention of new fans and media alike. Ever prolific, he expanded his collection of songs late last year with an EP comprised entirely of re-workings of his latest single ‘Standing In The Dark’ and already has a new album in the works. With the record and recent singles, including their expansive and lushly produced videos, receiving huge acclaim and still in rotation on the Portuguese airwaves, he spent much of the year on the road becoming a touring fixture in Portugal and Spain culminating with one of his biggest shows to date, at Super Bock Em Stock in Lisbon. With love coming in from all over the world, with features from the likes of Clash and Indie Shuffle, as well as support from Spotify, having been included in ‘Fresh Finds: Index’ playlist and ‘Indie Lusitano’, it all coincided perfectly, rounding off an incredible year which cemented Moss, his first record and recent collection of singles as instant classics and paved the way for a bright future. Being a part of British label Street Mission Records (distributed by PIAS) has only boosted his reputation.
