For over twenty years Mel has been exploring music production in order to produce numerous vocal & turntable effects and a wide variety of post-Industrial tracks & House remixes that have left crowds and music lovers educated and entertained since the early 90s. Despite having played at most clubs in Chicago as well as touring the US, Japan and France, Mel remains strongly rooted to the Chicago underground dance scene. Highlights from his discography include major label remixes for Sisqo, Pink, Whitney Houston & Deborah Cox as well as commissioned work for underground labels Afterhours, D’lectable, Loveslap and Music 101. He is a consummate producer, drummer and ProTools engineer, collaborating with 8fatfat8, Jason Tyler, Hakim Murphy & Die Warzau. Globally, he is known for producing tech-house tracks, most notably, “Impetus & Intention” (Afterhours Records). Along with a host of new productions forthcoming, expect to see and hear Mel Hammond on the decks in the near future.
