T.O.A.D. 1 of 3

I was in the studio working on a remix for a close friend. The music was mostly there, recorded into the machines. I was near the finish line. Then, I felt something; the air was sucked out of the room and all sound was gone. Silence. Something told me to turn my head to the left. Doing so, I saw a painting on the wall that wasn’t there before. It looked like a painting except it was breathing, moving towards and away from me. There was a spider in the bottom left of the frame and branches at the top right with green leaves growing out of them. The branches seemed to grow from the head of a toad. I was drawn to the toad. A voice drew me to the living painting. Maybe not a voice, but a force, commanding me to lick the toad. I realized that I was going mad, but there was no stopping what had been set in motion. I stood up, walked towards the image, clouds were floating over the toad and below the spider. I was quickly up against the image, it seemed as if my face was being engulfed and then released by the painting. I reached out my tongue to lick the toad’s head.
