"Lines” was written to describe what is in effect our inherent failure as human beings as being something ingrained in our brains. Of how our fundamental means of understanding anything relies on drawing lines between two extremes; light and dark, known and unknown, safe and dangerous etc. We lack the ability to appreciate what lies between those extremes. It sits at the root of all our problems, permeating our personal lives, politics, religion and almost every area of thought. From birth we are trained to think in this binary way. It is these binary oppositions that limit us.
