Biography

Storytelling. Can be a novel, a short movie, a story, a song or a scene. Influenced by Cindy Sherman, surrealist short movies by Bunel and Scorsese, and some Boris Vian novels, I started to write, photograph and film myself while narrating some of my short stories. The talk over was the “a-ha” moment, I could finally express my ideas in a bigger totality. I never thought about being a singer before that, it turned into something when I was playing around with some of my writings, talking them through in my self-portrait videos to create a unique atmosphere (to know more click HERE). After a few years I turned music into my real job, releasing my first EP "Swipe Right". It was based on some failed romance short stories, so it was kind of a joke, however it went viral on Spotify Brazil and then got featured in Vice Magazine. As I had no marketing or team supporting me, it was a good surprise. The other tracks on the EP and the next two singles also had some nice recognition: "My Diet Prada", a very fashionable song, was included on the Indie Berlin Republic blog with a pretty cool interview. After a good buzz I moved to Rio de Janeiro and started a record label with Sony Brasil called "Waw Visual Records". I was the Creative Director and A&R, I signed up three female artists, producing the videos and songs with my then business partner and great music producer Guto Guerra. As a composer/songwriter I also had the opportunity to work with some big Brazilian artists, co-writing songs with more than 15 million plays on YouTube. After two years without releasing my own songs I have finally got back in the studio as Groovy Loff. I've got a new direction and some interesting collaborations to be released in 2022. Currently you can also find me at Pilot Magazine UK as Head of Music.
