Born in 1986 in the multi cultural city of Marseille. Growing up Raphael was equally interested in nature and sport as he was music and art and was blessed to travel with his Great Uncle Maurice Béjart, a renowned choreographer of Ballet at the highest level, and this helped him form a fascination and understanding of the power of music and body movements. Growing up in this environment, he realised that life has no boundaries and that dreams could become a reality. Initially he was not sure which road to travel down with these dreams, and only saw the music as a hobby, despite spending hours in records shops in Marseille and researching electronic music Raff decided to travel to feed his passion for art, nature and surfing culture and this led him to Bali. When Raff decided to make roots in Bali he decided to follow his two passions, protecting nature, raising awareness of our responsibility as humans to protect the planet and of course… the music, in particular Techno. Drawing on all the positives of his contrasting mix of environments and passions up to that point it enabled him to go at the music with a unique angle. It didn’t take long for Raff to start picking up gigs all around Asia and Australia, as well as picking up residencies in two of the most credible genuine nightspots in Bali in Koh and Jenja, both champions for genuine underground sounds and international artists. Out of nowhere he suddenly found himself warming up and closing for some of his musical heroes such as Carl Craig, Dominik Eulberg, Niconé, La Fleur, Kolektive Turmstrasse, Ben Klock, Ark, Monkey Borthers, Charlotte de Witte, Blondish, HVOB, Oliver Koletzki, Amine K, Andhim, Damian Lazarus, Yokoo, Marco Bailey to name a few. Most recently Raff’s production has really come to the fore, from headlining SASH Syndey being part of French kitchen Agency then, to his first EP being signed by Chicago based label Aathee Records, Raff has now released on both Kindisch, an uber-cool sub label of the iconic Get Physical Music and the very minimal Malaysian based labels, Sweatbox Records and Love International. The last couple of years Raff has signed two Ep with Conceptual Records as well as one VA with the Iconic Portuguese label, Flow Records. This success in the studio has enabled Raff to travel far and wide playing Jakarta, Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Laos, Saigon, Shenzhen, Sydney, Melbourne, Rabat, Paris, Lisbonne, Marseille, Geneva, Montreux and most notably headlining to two thousands people audience alongside Amine K, Agent of time and Jimi Jules at Morroko Loko event in Marrakech.
